THE PRESIDENT
Suggested Anderson set up a consumer approach to food saving.
Suggested Anna Rosenberg and Mrs. Chase Going Woodhouse.
ANDERSON
Said a statement for the President to issue has been prepared.
Anderson read the statement.
Said Rosenberg would be useful. Woodhouse would be a mistake.
Discussed present programs to develop vaccine for hoof & mouth
disease in cattle.
LOVETT (State)
Warned against Cabinet members supporting any candidate for the
Nobel Peace Prize.
There are 35 Congressmen organizing to remove arms embargo to
Palestine - (2) Use of American troops (3) Economic aid to Palestine.
This is developing into a high pressure move.
ROYAL (For Forrestal)
National Defense people are gravely concerned about this question.

German Reparations

(2) Allocation
(3) Delivery & shipment
There are few plants in our zone for delivery elsewhere. There
are several in British & French zones. We are urging them to follow our
policy but they are maintaining independent action.
