(Dr. Weigle wrote the President that for about ten years
major e osperative agencies of Protestant and Eastern
Orthodox churches in this country have been working
toward closer coordination of their work and have now
reached point where they are planning to merge eight
national agencies in one organization and would like to
secure federal charter. This group has been making the
arrangements and wanted conference with the President
to secure his advico with regard to sponsorship of the
charter in Congress)
