TREMAR Chartwell, : ARCHIVES 'NATIONAL SERVICE** RECORDS AND Westerham, 10, Bowning Street, frindtz Kent. July 30, 1945. Mydear Tumman, Thank you so much for sending me your photograph with its gracious inscription. I am sorry indeed that our work together has been nipped in the bud, but I cherish the hope that our friend- ship will continue to ripen, and that there may be occasions when it may be of service to both our countries and to the common causes they pursue. I venture to send you by Winant's trusty hand a small token which I had hoped to bring back myself to Potsdam. May it record great words of peace and union between the British Commonwealth and the United States. That is my dearest hope. s ARCHIVES NATIONAL RECORDS AND aus. in paylent June grind so Aus 2 45.
