US Embassy New Delhi reports local press accounts
of the speeches made to the Indian Parliament on 10
June by three members of the Pandit Mission.
Madam Pandit : The Chinese Government has come td
stay. It commands the people's respect and loyalty.
Bureaucracy and corruption are being eliminated but
the methods used seem very drastic. As an Asian she
shares the Chinese' pride in their achievements.
Three greatest achievements are reforms, emancipation
of women and release of the energy of youth.
Dr. Amarnath Jha: Expressed disappointment at
the absence of foreign teachers and books in the
universities.
Acharya Narendradev: Mao has no rivals inside
or outside the Communist Party. He is essentially a
man of peace.
