CORCORAN to GEORGE KILLIAN of the Democratic National Committee.
TOM said the problem of going with GEORGE to hear President
TRUMAN speak was too complicated. He has too much to do. They
will have breakfast together tomorrow and at that time can talk.
12:10pm
Mrs. BEHAN to Mr. TAUBE (Phon.) of the National Resources Com-
mission, NA 4882, stating that Mr. YOUNGMAN wants to know what
time the appointment with KOPKEE and LAMMIE (both Phon. ) on
Thursday will be. TAUBE said their trains arrive late in the
morning. It was arranged that the meeting would be at 2:15 P.M.
Thursday.
12:11pm JOE
("just back from New York") to CORCORAN stating that
he had some "dope" on the New York elections. He said that he
wanted to talk to TOM before he talks with PATTERSON (Phon.).
JOE will call or talk to TOM later today in any event. TOM said
he thought he would "learn something today.' 11
1:20pm
DREW PEARSON to CORCORAN who is not in. CORCORAN will contact
him.
1:50pm
YAGER or YEAGER (Phon.), who is presently registered in some
Washington, D. C. Hotel, to CORCORAN who is not in. He asked
if Mr. SCHRAM who is apparently with the New York Stock Exchange-
had come to the office as yet and the stenographer did not
know. YAGER will be over to see CORCORAN this afternoon after
lunch. O.K.
2:20pm
YAGER or YEAGER to CORCORAN asking if EMIL SCHRAM had called.
Ans: No. YAGER will check with CORCORAN later this afternoon.
2:25pm
CORCORAN to DREW PEARSON. The following conversation took place:
C--I called you to tell you that we tried our God-damndest to
get that thing pulled loose that morning, but it was too
late.
P--I was afraid of that.
C--Because we weren't able to get it out of the assistant below
where it had been in so damn many small pieces. But I
want to tell you, he really tried. But you see, we were
working there with about an hour and a half. I went down
myself to see what could be done but we just couldn't pry
it out in time.
P--Well, I was afraid of that. I had talked to him about ten
days before. Did he tell you?
