Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: This is my last speech before election except for a report to my neighbors when I get back to Independence, Miscouri. Pittsburgh I like all other great indust- rial communities will go Democratic. Everyone expects this because the working men know which party they rely upon to watch out for the welfare of the working man. As far back as I can remember, the Republican Platform always has contained promises designed to convince the working man that he can trust the Republican Party. Harding and Coolidge and Hoover were elected on platforms that pledged them and the Republican Party to work for the benefit of labor. But you know what happened.
