9:45 a. m.
Y called to say he was just leaving- - - well, either just leaving or just not
leaving. Wanted to see if he might be able to see K again. K said if he
was not leaving how xix long he would be here. Y said it depended on
him; K said he might be able to see Y tomorrow morning, but hated for
him to wait just on that chance. Y asked when he would know; K said by
11:00 this morning--will - call to tell him by then. K said it was good to
see him in any case; Y agreed that they had had a good talk. K said he
doesn't often see people he can really talk with and trust in his office.
Y said he could believe that. K said, you know I'm damning you with
faint praise. K said he would call.
