Oh, yes, General, how do you do?
H:
Just fine. Our friend is enroute, you know.
D:
I understand. Well, I was going to ask you -- maybe you know of this
question really. I will seek your advice. You see there was a suggestion
that maybe by the beginning of next week we will have an exchange of
ratification and a document about this ABM Treaty.
H:
Yes.
D:
And this is as it looks so nevertheless looks all right. I mean, that you
will tell me by the end of this week and we hope to do the same.
H:
Yes.
D:
But this is not a question of ours really of what to do about a temporary
agreement, you know, this ABM and temporary agreement.
H:
Yes.
D:
According to Article 8 of this temporary agreement each country should
notify the other country that they consider that this country accepts the
temporary agreement.
H:
Yes.
D:
So we really don't know and we would like advice really and they will do
the same -- who is going to sign this letter so to speak, to whom
addressed this letter may be going that United States or the Soviet Union
or acceptance of this temporary agreement.
H:
I understand. Let me get our best thinking on it and share it with you
and I am sure this is just a technical matter but --
D:
I understand really. If you will just raise this little matter of missile
or anyone, it will be all right with me. I simply try to do this because
we discuss this between our governments overseas but this really was
not mentioned and now it's not all right really.
H:
Yes.
