Mr. Josiah Stryker,
%/O Lindabury, Depue & Faulks,
Prudential Building,
763 Broad Street,
Newark, N. J.
Dear lr. Stryker:
Re: Carlown Vs. U. S. Radium Corp. 43059.
Thanks for your letter of the 24th.
I feel very
certain that Mr. McGlynn will recall having instructed us to
retain Dr. Plinn. This, coupled with the fact that lir. Lee
phoned Markley this morning, who said that he expected to have
a decision from his Company, the Aetna, in regard to settlement
to-day or to-morrow, makes me feel that it would be safe for US
to proceed with the settlement with no further delay.
I have a meeting with the chairman of our Board this
afternoon and will see the other members so far as necessary
before the 29th, so that there will be no delay here. As stated
to you over the phone the other day, our preference would be for
the Insurance Company to malce the settlement and we, in turn, will
immediately pay the company our part. Since we have already
sent a cheok to Dr. Flinn, this need not be made an issue at the
minute.
Yours truly,
President.
