April 26, 1926. Mr. Josiah Stryker, %/O Lindabury, Depue & Faulks, Prudential Building, 763 Broad Street, Newark, N. J. Dear lr. Stryker: Re: Carlown Vs. U. S. Radium Corp. 43059. Thanks for your letter of the 24th. I feel very certain that Mr. McGlynn will recall having instructed us to retain Dr. Plinn. This, coupled with the fact that lir. Lee phoned Markley this morning, who said that he expected to have a decision from his Company, the Aetna, in regard to settlement to-day or to-morrow, makes me feel that it would be safe for US to proceed with the settlement with no further delay. I have a meeting with the chairman of our Board this afternoon and will see the other members so far as necessary before the 29th, so that there will be no delay here. As stated to you over the phone the other day, our preference would be for the Insurance Company to malce the settlement and we, in turn, will immediately pay the company our part. Since we have already sent a cheok to Dr. Flinn, this need not be made an issue at the minute. Yours truly, President. ARoeder-HM
