July 12th, 1926, Mx. E. S. Daniells, c/o Ingersoll Watch Co., Ltd., Ingersoll House,Kingsway, London, W. c. England. Dear 1br. Daniells:- Enclosed herewith you will find three (3) copies of an article entitled #Radio Active Material an Industrial Hazard?" by Dr. Trederick B. Flinn, Ph. De, Assistant Professor of Physiology in Industrial Hygione, Collego of Physicians and Surgoons, Columbia Uni- versity, New York City, which treats of the ao called #radium necrosis" or radium poisoning cases. The investigation by Dr. Finn, which formed the basis of his article, has been by far the most thorough and far reaching work underfairen on this subject. This article will appeer in one of the earky issues of the Journal of the Amorican Modi- cal Association. While it seems that the charge of #radium poisoning" caused the death of several girls (which charge was widaly advortised throwgh the prese a fow months ago) is entirely unfounded, tre naturally hesitate - without further investigation - to makre the broad statement that radiom in luminous material is unharmful, although we believe this to be the case. Therefore, in order to be on the safe side, we caution you, if you have not already done 00, to order your operators not to point their application brushes betweon their lips. Whenever we receive any further authentic information on the subject, we shall be glad to pass it along to you. Yours very truly, President. CBLEE-OB Enclosures (3) or amplece gos or Dase
