Maza, BU saws JUNE 27, 1996 TO Lome ncHwyl MEMORANDUM FOR HAROLD ICKES From Hand FROM: LORRIE MCHUGH a.m. 715196 RE: BILL MAZER, NEW YORK RADIO HOST In response to your memo, WEVD's Bill Mazer is definitely a supportive talk radio host in the New York metropolitan area. Fortunately, he is not our only supporter on the New York airwaves. We have other supporters who have much larger listening audiences. (WEVD does not rate among the top 25 radio stations in the area.) Before we schedule a presidential interview with Mazer, we would recommend that the President do one or more of the following New York metropolitan radio stations with friendly programs: * Joan Hamburg show, WOR - #2 talk station, #15 overall *Rambling with Gambling, WOR *Lynn Samuels show, WABC - #1 talk station, #6 overall *Mark Riley, Wayne Gilman, WLIB/WBLS - African American station, #14 overall We would suggest that the President do a radio interview with Bill Mazer only if we had 30 minutes of radio time on his schedule and we could schedule 3 or 4 radio interviews with New York stations. Both the White House and the DNC have booked guests on Mazer's program and will continue to do so. Please let me know if you need more information. 7/5/96 I agee It Hawer
