The tall spire of the parish. church rises to a considerable height above the roofs, about one-third across the plate from the right.

Liberty, at 154, Regent Street) ; just below the level of the clock a workman stands on a ladder which is held steady by a comrade at the foot. The subject is arched at the top, where a pulley hangs from the planks of a scaffold - the planks and pulley are put in with charcoal. A blank margin is left round the subject. Unfinished. The plate was abandoned after these few trial proofs had been pulled. The exact topographer must be cautioned against mistaking this print for evidence of the architectural features of Beak Street in 1905.

To the right are two mean houses, the remains of a row partly demolished. In the foreground towards the right is a man carrying a lantern.
In the immediate foreground is a high wall with a coping, on the further side of which a tall cypress rises on the left, extending to the top of the plate. Farm buildings are seen in the middle distance at the foot of a terraced hill, on the crest of which are a number of cypresses. The small cypresses on the crest of the hill stand out against a blank sky.
In front is water ; on the shore beyond is a large boat in process of construction ; below it, also on shore, is a small rowing boat, and two heavier vessels, of which that on the left has a mast, are afloat. The plate measures 114 x 267 mm., and contains other boats and houses. The left end was cut off and utilized, the remainder being abandoned.
