In the upper part is the subject here described, with the sails in outline, only one figure on the right, and fewer lines in the sky. In the lower part, beneath a ruled line, is another subject, inverted (The Nelson Column, Great Yarmouth.)

The name Templeton is inscribed in large letters on the front of the house. In the street before it is a man with a hand-cart. The smoke curling upward from the small funnel on the left is more defined. Lines of horizontal shading added to ground after artist's signature.
A small building of classical design, which was demolished in the course of alterations made for the extension of the Mall towards Charing Cross. Beside a window on the facade of the chapel is a label, "Spring Gardens."
In the foreground flowering plants and a tree along the left side. The Alhambra is at the left, behind which stretches the plain and in the distance the hills.
