Attached is a copy of my original letter to Mrs. William
Stanfield, the Agnes von Kurowsky of World War I, a Red Cross
nurse stationed in Milan, Italy. Enclosed also is her reply
when
and a letter of acknowledgment which I sent her on May 11.
I will be interested in any information you are able to
secure concerning the various Red Cross nurses mentioned by
we
have
for
Mrs. Stanfield in her May 6th letter.
Our field of information concerning Hemingway's career as
a Red Cross ambulance driver during World War I is now growing
and presents a rather well documented record of his service with
our organization.
