Frederick C. Weyand, U.S. Army Chief of Staff Henry A. Kissinger, Secretary of State The purpose of the meeting was to receive Gen. Weyand's assessment of the military situation in South Vietnam. 7:55 R The President was telephoned by Secretary of the Treasury William E. Simon. The call was not completed. 9:04 The President, accompanied by Leon C. Parma Group Executive, Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical Company, San Diego, California, went to his motorcade. 9:04 9:08 The President and Mr. Parma motored from the Presidential vacation residence to the Thunderbird Country Club, Rancho Mirage, California. The President and Mr. Parma were joined by: Fred C. Wilson, President of Trans World Insurance Brokers, Beverly Hills, California Robert Phinney, President of Thunderbird Country Club 9:18 The President went to the practice tee. 9:26 The President greeted attendees at a private breakfast. The President was presented with an honorary lifetime member- ship card and certificate for Thunderbird Country Club by Mr. Phinney.
