Frederick C. Weyand, U.S. Army Chief of Staff Henry A. Kissinger, Secretary of State The purpose of the meeting was to receive Gen. Weyand's assessment of the military situation in South Vietnam. 7:55 R The President was telephoned by Secretary of the Treasury William E. Simon. The call was not completed. 9:04 The President, accompanied by Leon C. Parma Group Executive, Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical Company, San Diego, California, went to his motorcade. 9:04 9:08 The President and Mr. Parma motored from the Presidential vacation residence to the Thunderbird Country Club, Rancho Mirage, California.
