38 DAFD February 1, 1951 MEMORANDUM ON THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING Item 4. Our Policy toward Spain The discussion turned on the recommended amendments made by the Senior Staff to NSC 72/2 conclusions together with the subsequent amendments recommended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I accepted the amendments of the Joint Chiefs to Sections 7 (a), (c), (f) and 8 (a). In regard to paragraphs 7 (d) and 8 (b) I made the proposals which we agreed upon this morning as shown in my book. These were accepted by Mr. Lovett for the Defense Department and were approved by the President. DA DECLASSIFIED E.
