Honorable Edgar G. Hinde
Independence, Missouri
Dear Edgar:
I wrote Lester a letter respecting the
Chief, and also sent him a telegram. Hope it has
the desired effect.
As you know, Les is in a terrible lot of
hot water, and also you know that the people who
are supposed to work with him are in the same
THE
position that it was customary to say that a former
to
mesa
SAMPLE
Presiding Judge was in.
Just read your letter which came this
morning, and it fits right in with what I tried to
say to you, that the present County Court doesn't
know what to do and doesn't know how to find out
what to do. Mr. Long never did know what it was
all about, and I don't suppose he ever will. I
think eventually we will get the whole situation
worked out so that it will be entirely satisfact-
cry.
I am certainly happy that you and Eddie
and Alex have gotten me all fixed up. I am going
to hold you to it.
Sincerely yours,
Harry S. Truman
