SPECIAL MEHORANDUM: "Personnel Adjutants"
MONTHLY ROSTERS
The following telegram is quoted for your in-
formation and guidance;
"Commanding General, 35th Division.
S S numbeo 223. ALI instructions concerned in
Memorandun, Statistical Soction, A.G.O., these Head-
quarters, 27th Januany, 1919 in confliot with the
provisions of Special Regulations 57-A War Department,
1918, will be dissegarded, Rosters will be prepared
in the manner and on the paper prescribed in these
regulations. Disposition of copies will be as pre-
seribed in Memorandum above refered to. (Signed)

Your attention is invited to Memorandum lic. 87, GHQ
AEF catec January 27, 1919 which requires that Monthly Rosters
for November and December 1918 and January 1919 be submitted
in accordance with Special Regulation 57-A. Form No. 1, CRO
does not conform to the paper required in Special Regulation
57.A, therefore will not be used. A supply of thin paper
is being distributed this date for use in proparing these
rosters, and will be used exclusively for that works.
Your attention is further invited to paragraph 33,
SpecialRegulation 67-A which requiros a Regimental or Unit
Roster of officers in addition to the Roster of Troops (which
includes the officers).
Rosters for both officers and troops will be pre-
pared in quadruplicate and disposed of as follows:
1 copy to be retained.
3 copies forwarded to the next higher adminis-
trative commonder.
The personnel officers will keep the retained copy
of each rostor of troops for use at the headquarters of the
command or station for 2. period, of one month, or until the

roster for the succeeding month is prepared, when it will be

transmitted to the company or detachment IOI file. The re.

taine: copies of rostens of officers vill be filed at the
hearquerters of the command or station. Three copies will
be forwarded to Division Personnel Adjutant, one of which will
be returned at the end of the current month.
