I, Jefferson Smedley Sheriff of the County of Jackson , State of Missouri, send Greeting: WHEREAS, On the 23rd day of May , 19..23, Janie Chiles borrowed of the County of Jackson in the State of Missouri, the sum of Sixteen Thousand ($16,000) - - - 100 Dollars, belonging to the Capital School Funds of the following described School Townships in said County, in the several amounts set opposite thereto, respectively, viz: TOWNSHIP AMOUNT TOWNSHIP AMOUNT Dollars Cts. Eine Eund, Capital 16,000.00 And to the Public School Fund of said County Total 16,000.00 for which said sum of borrowed money the said Janie Chiles as Principal, with Susan Chiles and Marganet Chiles as Sureties, executed a bond to the said County, bearing date the 23rd day of May 19.23, in which said bond the said Principal and Securities agree and bind themselves to pay to the said County, for the use and benefit of the School Townships hereinbefore mentioned, on or before the 3lst day of December 19.23. the said sum of borrowed money, with interest thereon from the date of said bond, until paid, at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum: said interest to be paid annually on the 3lst day of December in each and every year, until the whole debt should be paid off and discharged; and whereas, in consideration of the premises, and to secure the payment of said sum of borrowed money, when the same should become due, on the 31st day of December 19.23, the said Janie Chiles executed and delivered to the said County, for the use and benefit of said School Township a certain Mortgage Deed, whereby she conveyed to the said County, the following described Lot. , Tract or Parcel of Land, lying, being and situate in the County of Jackson State aforesaid, viz: All of the Northwest quarter (NW 1/4) of Section Twenty-Two (22)
