Took up the problem of one dollar a year men in govt and also
W. O. C.
CHAPMAN
Agreed with principle but in some instances there will be neces-
sity to have such men in specific areas.
SAWYER
It is difficult to get top men at personal sacrifice. Agrees with
principle but we must face practically the job we have to do.
WEBB
Made brief report on activities of Big 3 meeting in New York (Acheson,
Bevin & Schumann).
The problem to be worked out is the use of Germans in the defense
of Western Europe.
SNYDER
Congress has done a good job on Tax Bill. We now have a bill which
will produce additional revenue.
