Dear Lr. Halsh:
Thank you for your letter of January 7 and for your
comments on our memorandum.
Our Bureau of Intelligence is prepared to cooperate
with established rumor-combatting groups, and we have suggested
that such groups send us non-local rumors. You will find a
fuller account of possible cooperation in the enclosed memo-

I am enclosing a poster which has just appeared and
which may be useful. I am also putting your name on our
poster distribution list.
I am informed that on December 8 our Bureau of
Intelligence sent you material concerning a request from you
(November 27) concerning a rumor about a coffee shortage.
Dr. Eugene Horowitz will shortly send you material with ref-
erence to the rumor about Spain's olives.
