Dear Rabbi Gourary:
The President has asked me to thank
you for your letter of November twenty-first
and to tell you that he read with deep interest
of the plans of your organization in furtherance
of Jewish religious education throughout the

United States.
In these perilous times, when atheistic
communism is the foe of all those cherished liber-

ties upon which our happiness as a nation is based,
we need more than ever before the strength that
comes from spiritual things. The President believes
firmly that religious education is a bulwark of

freedom and free democratic institutions. He asks
me to extend his hearty felicitations and warmest
personal greetings to all who attend the Eleventh
Annual Dinner of United Lubavitcher Yeshivoth.
