    "ocrText": "MR. HAUCK\nthis is the schedule CONFIDENTIAL mr. Crim shut me\nExecutive Director, Commission on\nRenovation of the Executive Mansion\nAugust 1, 1951\nMessrs. Hauck, Thorn, and Kelley\nRenovation of the Executive Mansion\nROHIVES\nProject 19-100-8\nNATIONAL RECORDS SERVICE\"\nCompletion Schedule - Your Memorandum of July 19, 1951\nE. COVERAGE\nAs directed by the Commission, careful consideration has been given\nto a forecast of the probable date when the Executive Mansion vill\nbe completed and furnished, ready for occupancy. A construction\nprogress schedule revised as of August 1, is attached.\nWe conclude that the construction and closely related work within\nthe Mansion and the essential approach vork will be completed by\nDecember 15, 1951, excluding the installation of Special Lighting\nFixtures and the placing and installing of furniture and furnishings.\nThe above may be regarded as a firm date, barring a catastrophe.\nHowever, with the utmost cooperation of all concerned, we are hopeful\nthat the construction project will be completed sometime between\nNovember 15 and December 1.\nMr. Haight of B. Altman & Co. has indicated that he can complete his\ninstallation in 30 days. Assuming that the 0. R. Evans Co. (and\nEdw. F. Caldwell) can complete the fixtures ready for installation in\n43 months from August 1, and actually start installation by December 15,\nit is believed that 4 weels would be ample time for the entire installa-\ntion, indicating an occupancy date of January 15, 1952.\nIn support of the date forecast, the following is offered:\nOver and above any close and revised scheduling of the work\nof numerous subcontracts, there remain many intangibles\nand time-consuring contingencies which are difficult to\nevaluate.\nWe believe that the entire mechanical and electrical work,\nincluding all fixtures and equipment (excluding Special\nLighting Fixtures), and the complete elevator and dumb-\nwaiter installation will be completed during the month of\nNovember.\nThe subcontracts which give the greatest concern are:\na.\nFinished Wood Flooring\nb. Marble, including Mantels"
