    "ocrText": "TELEGRAM\nThe Mibite\nMashingtou\nOttawa, Ontario, April 11, 1946\nTelephoned memorandum for\nTHE PRESIDENT\nFrom Prime Minister MacKenzie King:\nReference our conversation.\nBoth gentlemen while most appreciative of suggestion\nthat one or the other should further consider his decision, quite\nfirm in their opinion that they should adhere to the position they\nhave taken not to accept greatly honored as they feel by the proposal.\nThey desire me to let this be known to you. Knowing the careful\nthought each have given the matter also what the resignation of his\npresent position by either would mean to Canada at this time, I do\nnot feel I should speak to urge further consideration of the matter\nupon them. I am quite confident to do so would be of little or no\navail.
