Room followed by his guests. At the end of the dinner, the President, President Rios, and some guests will retire to the Red Room with other guests going to the Blue Room, for coffee, liqueurs, and cigars. At about ten o' clock Mr. Summerlin will indicate to several ranking guests that leaving is in order. Following the departure of the guests, the President will proceed to the second floor with President Rios and others he asks for final conversation before retiring. a SERVICE^ ARCHIVES AND 5. White House Aides: RECOROS Six White House Aides (three Army and three Navy) will be on duty for the reception of President Rios at the White House. Two Aides will be on duty in the Blue Room to assist the Cabinet members in assuming the correct position for their presentation to the President and President Rios. When the Cabinet is in place, and after military honors on the portico are about to conclude, one of these Aides will leave the Blue Room and stand near Mrs. Truman, ready to escort her to the Red Room after she has met President Rios. Four Aides will escort the President through the front door when he goes out to greet President Rios. They will assume position as shown on attached diagram. When the honors have been completed, the Aides will form a line on either side of the entrance to the White House. When the President, Prosident Rios, Secretary of State, and Ambassador Dominguez have entered, two Aides will break formation and escort Mr. Summerlin and other official guests -5-
