Dear Mr. Jackson:
I appreciated very much your letter in regard
to the shipbuilding industry.
That matter carne up for discussion in the
Cabinet Meeting last Friday and I hope we can
find a solution to it. With the Congress in the
mood, however, to be picayunish on necessary
appropriations I know I will find it difficult to
meet this situation. It will take the best thought
of everyone to work it out.
