-2- 390, July 26, Noon, from Tehran.
British Counsellor told me that later Ambassador had talked
with Senator Matine-Dafteri of Oil Committee about relieving
tension, and Senator had suggested the four representatives
of Oil Committee might discuss subject with me if I agreed.
I replied Ambassador could, of course, send message to
Senator that I would willingly discuss matter with repre-
sentatives of committee if they desired.
