- 8 - Communist. Senator Morse of Oregon said he formerly worked with Posniak in the Justice Department, and attested to his loyalty in the 'thirties. Posniak himself issued a statement declaring the charges to be completely and utterly false, and plead with Senator McCarthy to repeat his charges outside congressional immunity. Posniak formerly served in the Army and the loss, is a naturalized citizen born in Rusia. He has already been attested as a loyal American by a loyalty board. Here is another case which cannot be solved in the Senate floor, which has already been investigated by appointed authority but may require further investigation, but -- pending such an investigation -- remains a personal tragedy and the blasting of a hard-won reputation. Down in Sarasota, Florida today the blue and white United Nations flag - already flying in Korea -- was raised to fly beside the stars and stripes over the city's memorial flagstaff. A Marine Corp General urged other cities to follow the same example to show American solidarity with brother nations. Thank you, and good night. "NATIONAL ARCHIVES AND PECORDS
