Release by radio commentators and news broadcasters NOT EARLIER THAN 7:00 P.M., E.S.T., Monday, January 6, 1947. Charles G. Ross Secretary to the President "The President has directed General Marshall to return to Washington to report in person on the situation in China. He will probably leave Nanking tomorrow morning."
