Dear Mrs. Roosevelt:
I can't tell you how very much I appreciate
your letters of April twenty-seventh and May
sixth - one enclosing me copy of a letter which
you had sent to General Marshall, and the other
one a memorandum of a conversation you had
with the Honorable Jean Monnet. They are
most
interesting and helpful - furnishing me with back-
ground information. You are very kind to keep
me informed on these matters.
I shall certainly be happy to see you when you
return.
Sincerely yours,
Hampherman
