9:45a.m. Miss KIRKPATRICK contacted CORCORAN, saying that CLARK
(D. WORTH CLARK, former Senator) is at Room 1164, Plaza
Hotel, New York City. He wants CORCORAN to look at the
"Wall Street Journal", yesterday's and today's issue, for
the articles anent the "utility situation". 0. K.
10:10a.m. MAUREY MAVERICK (Chairman of Smaller War Plants Corporation)
told CORCORAN that he will go to the Pacific with Secretary
of the Navy FORRESTAL, and, incidental thereto, wants to go
to China. He asked that CORCORAN help him get the clearance,
through Chinese authorities. MAVERICK will come to see
CORCORAN, tomorrow.
10.20a.m. CORCORAN inquired for DAVID CORCORAN, at New York City
(ORchard 4-1272). No answer.
10:30a.m.
CORCORAN inquired for DAVE CORCORAN, Newark, New Jersey
(BIgelow 3-3550). DAVE CORCORAN will call back.
10:45a.m.
C. M. WRIGHT, CORCORAN'S office, talked with DICK ROBEY,
Boston, Massachusetts (ELiot 3120). WRIGHT and ROBEY
dis-
cussed the lease of a building for "FIRESTONE". ROBEY is
interested in lease of a building that owner has said is
worth one million dollars. WRIGHT is to see some unnamed
man in Washington about it.
11:00a.m.
DREW PEARSON'S office to DREW PEARSON saying that LEO CROWLEY
cannot see him at 11:45 but will see him at 2:30 P.M. today.

11:25a.m.
Unidentified MAN at White House to CORCORAN. CORCORAN said,
"I couldn't talk to you last night because those two guys
that were standing with me were guys from the Anti-Trust
Division of the Department of Justice that were trying to
high-pressure me into letting a client go before the grand
jury and I was mum as hell. I didn't mean not to be friendly
when I was in the middle of that row. I learned a lot in the
course of yesterday." Man said, "You usually do. If TOM asked
if man was going to be busy after lunch. No. He will come
over to see CORCORAN this afternoon.
11:30a.m.
CORCORAN to SHER asking him what's happened on ARNOLD MILTON
KIEHN. CORCORAN Said, "I've got to get this KIEHN money out
today even if we have to pull the house down. First of all,
can you find out why he hasn't got cleared yet?" SHER said,
"I think so." CORCORAN asked, "will you call me right back,
because up at the top he has been expressly cleared not only
for this month but for as many months as he wants it. I
