4. General: The reaction of non-Communist foreign countries
to the UN and U.S. stand on Korean question continues to be favorable.
Egypt is maintaining a neutral position, apparently as a result of Arab
resentment of the UN decisions on Palestine; and Sweden has not yet
made a policy statement. However, the Swedish Foreign Ministry states
that Swedish official and public opinion shares the views expressed in
the Security Council resolution.
