Carrier air strikes on targets in southwest Korea 29 July resulted in the destruction of 3 tanks, 1 armored car, 1 transformer, 1 gas tank, 1 bridge; the burning of 12 villages and the remaining third of the town of Nampyong, 45 trucks, 5 jeeps; and the damaging of 1 tank, 1 vehicles, 2 bridges. Large fires were started in Kochang and Hadong. Enemy troops were strafed and bombed at Hadong. (FECOM) (SECRET) n. Two P2V aircraft on armed reconnaissance on the east coast destroyed 1 locomotive, 8 RR cars and damaged a twin bridge in Chongjin area (41-45N).
