The WORCESTER (CL) and four destroyers of Destroyer\nDivision 21 have been transferred from the Atlantic Fleet to augment\nCOMNAVFE and arrive in Buckner Bay, Okinawa 18 August (CINCPAC-\nFLT) (CONFIDENTIAL)\nW. The TOLEDO (CA), MANSFIELD (DD) and COLLETT (DD) on\neast coast patrol at the request of Army shore spotters fired harassing\nfire at enemy troop and gun emplacements in the Yongdok area. Star shells\nwere fired during the night to illuminate for shore artillery fire. Rail and\nroad junctions were interdicted. (COMNAVFE) (CONFIDENTIAL)\nU.S. AIR FORCE\nX. USAF claims for 30 July, based on incomplete reports, include:\n7 trucks, 2 box cars, 3 field guns, and two bridges destroyed; 1 tank, 9\ntrucks, 21 box cars, and 11 field guns damaged, and 200 troops killed.\n(FEAF) (SECRET)\nY.
