undetermined amount of artillery west of the Naktong on the Sangju-Uisong

Kwangju and an undetermined number of vehicles on the Seoul-Chochiwon road.

j. North Korean reserves capable of intervention are reported to be
the 1st Division possibly in the Chinju area; the 3d Division believed moving
south of Kumchon; the 9th and 14th Divisions possibly in the Taejon area; a
possible unidentified division in the Yongdong area; and some five separate

K. An aircraft believed by observers to be a B-29 type was observed
in the target area at Pyongyang on 7 August. The unidentified aircraft followed
US B-29's rather closely, breaking away prior to entry into the flak areas.
US crews reported that flak was more accurate when this aircraft was in the

GROUND
a. 1st U.S. Cavalry Division: The 1st battalion, 7th Cavalry RCT,
and Company A, 71st Medium Tank Battalion, are designated as Division reserve;
they are to curduct reconnaissance and prepare to counterattack. The 5th
Cavalry RCT engaged guerrillas in its zone. Elements of the 7th Cavalry RCT
engaged enemy forces in the vicinity. of a bridge at the Naktong River, 16 miles
south of Waegwan (FECOM) (SECRET)
