TOM CORCORAN to SENATOR LISTER HILL, who assured him that the
Senate will not adjourn today but possibly will tomorrow.
8:50am
CORCORAN told LOUISE
that he and JOSH
are
working on a problem involving one of his constituents and they are
afraid Congress will adjourn before they can handle it. CORCORAN
said he will have lunch today with CLAUDE (PEPPER) at the Senate
at 1 P.M. and he suggested that LOUISE contact JOSH and ask him
to be there, too, so they can try to enlist the help of TOM
CONNALLY before the Senate adjournment. LOUISE said she would
try to reach JOSH before he goes into a Board meeting.
9:10am
CORCORAN for JULIUS HOLMES at State Department who is busy.
9:12am
CORCORAN for LESLIE BIFFLE, Secretary of the Senate, who was not
in. CORCORAN stated he wants a 10 o'clock appointment with
BIFFLE. Later BIFFLE's office contacted CORCORAN and said BIFFLE
has a 10 'clock appointment and cannot see CORCORAN at that time.
9:15am
Mr. SEARLES (Phon.) for WORTH CLARK, who is not in. SEARLES said
that he is just leaving his hotel, that he wants an appointment
with CLARK and that he will contact CLARK about 9:30 A.M.
9:47am
WORTH CLARK inquired if there were any mail for him. He said
that he may be reached at his other office.
9:50am
CORCORAN for Mr. KELLY (In Secretary of Treasury VINSON'S office),
who was not in. He left a message that KELLY should call him.
9:55am
CORCORAN changed his appointment with SENATOR BRIDGES from 10:30
today until 10:30 tomorrow.
9:57am
CORCORAN arranged with TIM MOONEY (DIstrict 1555) to lunch with
him tomorrow instead of today.
10:00am Mrs. CLARK left word for D. WORTH CLARK that the carpenter is
there and WORTH should contact her as soon as possible.
10:05am CORCORAN for DEAN ACHESON at the State Department, who is at a
meeting.
10:12am
CORCORAN to Miss STUART at Justice Department in Attorney General's
office. The following conversation took place after exchange of
pleasantries:
C--I'm just simply doing my morning checkup. Did you learn any-
thing for me about (JOHN) SERVICE? (In State Department
stolen document case)
S--Ah let me see. That was about what?
