judge (FRANKFURTER ?) is feeling fine and that he has been ask-
ing when you (TOBY) were coming back. TOBY says he heard the
judge was making a radio address on the 11th. TOBY says he
will be back from New York by then to run any necessary errands.
TOBY asks PRICHARD if he approved the judge's script. PRICHARD
says he hasn't seen it. TOBY says that he told them that PRICHARD
was to approve it. PRICHARD says that (JOHN) SNYDER (OWM & R)
was asked to make the speech but he doesn't know the outcome of
that. TOBY asks if PRICHARD likes SNYDER. PRICHARD says all
right but that he (SNYDER) has a lot to learn. TOBY agrees with
him. PRICHARD at TOBY'S question replies that his affairs are
all right and he will talk them over at length with TOBY later
on. PRICHARD asks TOBY to come back from New York on Tuesday
so that PRICHARD can have a long talk with him. OK.
3:20pm
JOHN O'BOYLE to JULES HANNAFORD asking what he is going to do.
JULES says he is leaving FEA on September 15th, "that he will be
god-damned if he will stay in FEA any longer." He says he will
probably go home.

12:18am PRICHARD to his Father in Paris, Kentucky. PRICHARD Senior dis-
cussed recent local elections and commented upon certain indi-
viduals who had given him support. They discussed the possible
purchase of a weekly or semi-weekly newspaper, the "Kentuckian."
The balance of the conversation was strictly personal re health
and mutual friends.
