The following conversation took place:\nAF - Hello.\nTC - ABE?\nAF - Yes, sir.\nTC - I just-I had MAC chasin' up this talk that (ROBERT) KENNY (A.G.\nof California) had the other day. I find out that when KENNY\nwas talkin'--this is about the RITTER business-\nAF - Yeah!\nTC - When KENNY was talkin' about people peddling interest they were not\nabout RITTER and they were not about the tidelands. They were about\nthis Valentine script which is being peddled and peddled and peddled\nwith allegations of inside connections with the Interior. You see,\nyou can't peddle this tidelands stuff because you have to sell an\nundivided interest.\nAF - That's what I thought.\nTC - But the script is the thing that KENNY was thinking about and he was\nall confused about the damn thing.\nAF - Well, I've.heard that story for many months.\nTC - Yeah, okey.\nAF - You know who's supposed to be in on it?\nTC - PAULEY?\nAF - Yeah and it's supposed to be pretty widely disseminated among\nimportant people.\nTC - Yeah.\nAF - I don't know whether it's true or not.\nTC - Yeah, okey.\nTOM asked when ICKES would be back. TOM said, \"I was thinkin' about\nMonday morning.\" ABE did not know when he would return.\n4:00 PM\nMR. LEO CROWLEY to TOM CORCORAN. The following conversation took place:\nLC - Hello.\nTC - I went over last--this morning. I carefully pointed out to our\nfriend DON, the Herald Tribune, and told them that you'd held the\nthing over last night. didn't know how much longer you would hold\nit.\nLC - Yeah.\nT C - I also went down last night and told a Democrat about it--that was\nBURT--I also saw to it that a Republican was told about it this\nmorning-TAFT."
