h. On the west coast, BATAAN aircraft flew 113 sorties during the
period, attacking enemy targets in the Chinnampo and Haeju areas. Using
airspot, BELFAST, COSSACK, and COCKADE fired on targets southwest of
Chinnampo, striking enemy occupied buildings and dispersing troops.

i. During the period 16-18 March, UN aircraft under FEAF control
flew 2563 sorties. Sixteen hundred and sixty two combat sorties were flown, of
which 34 were by RAAF, 44 by SAAF, and 264 by USMC aircraft. Three hundred
twenty six close support, 941 armed reconnaissance, 140 counter air, and 131
night intruder sorties were flown. The Combat Cargo Command flew 656 sorties
airlifting 7346 passengers, and 1188 tons of freight. Air drops of equipment and
supplies were made at Yonggiwon-San and Hongchon. (FEAF)(SECRET)
j. During the period 17-19 March, the Bomber Command flew 69 sorties,
bombing Manpojin(41-09N/126-17E), Hungnam and Munchon with excellent results.

1. On 17 March, 4 F-80's encountered 3 MIG-15's 20 miles south-
east of Sinuiju. One MIG lost a wing and an F-80 exploded as result of collision.

m. During the night of 17-18 March, one B-29 was attacked by 3-5
unidentified aircraft near Pyongyang. There was no damage to friendly or
enemy aircraft. During the night of 18-19 March, an F-82 sighted a possible
enemy aircraft in the vicinity of Chunchon. The F-82 turned with the unidenti-
fied aircraft for 25 minutes but no fire was exchanged. (FEAFX SECRET)
