1. Weather:
Middle and high clouds with broken to overcast low clouds in the
southern sectors. Visibility 4 to 7 miles in hase, 1 to 3 miles in rain.
Temperatures 43 to 54 degrees F. Forecast: Overcast multilayered
clouds with visibility 1 to 3 miles in rain improving along south and
west portions during the period to unlimited ceilings. Maximum tem-
peratures 39 degrees F. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile opposition was light to non-existent across the UN front,
except in the 24th US Infantry Division and 5th ROK Division zones,
where enemy groups up to battalion strength offered light to stiff resis-
tance to advancing friendly units. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND
a. General: UN forces continued to advance during the
period. Friendly tank-infantry patrols probed up to 6 miles forward
of established positions. A US Marine Division patrol entered the town
of Kwachon without opposition. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: 1st ROK Division continued patrolling West
and northwest of the Imjin River without significant contact. A tank
patrol of the 3d US Infantry Division received intense small arms and
mortar fire 6 miles northwest of Yonchon, and friendly air observers
reported much enemy activity and 3-miles southwest of the tank patrol
contact. A 25th US Infantry Division tank-infantry patrol advanced 4
