1. Weather:
Generally clear. Visibility good. Temperatures 66 to 87 degrees
F. Forecast: Scattered to broken middle and high clouds with scattered
rain showers. Visibility good. Temperatures 62 to 85 degrees F.

2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile activity centered in the area between Kumhwa and the Pukhan
River, where numerous enemy groups were encountered and several
probing attacks of platoon to battalion strength were made against friendly
lines. Unidentified aircraft dropped 3 bombs northwest of Seoul, near
the 1st ROK Division CP, early in the morning of 26 June. Friendly
air
observed many enemy supply dumps in front of IX and X Corps lines.
Five enemy tanks were sighted in the Haeju area. Sixteen hundred vehicles
were sighted, of which 875 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND:
a. General: Friendly units continued patrolling and repulsed
enemy counterattacks and made slight gains in the IX Corps sector. The
187th Airborne RCT closed in Pusan. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: 1st ROK Division patrols observed numerous
enemy groups in the area east of Kaesong, Patrols from the 1st US Cavalry
Division engaged an enemy regiment and smaller groups west of Yonchon,
across the Imjin, and also along the north side of the Yonchon-Sibyon road.
An estimated enemy battalion forced slight withdrawal of 3d US Infantry
Division positions near Kumhwa, but friendly elements counterattacked and
regained the positions. Several light probing attacks were repulsed just
east of Kumhwa. (FECOM) (SECRET)
