1. Weather:
Broken middle and high clouds, with scattered low clouds. Visi-
bility 10 miles. Temperatures 65 to 85 degrees F. Forecast: Broken
high and low clouds. Visibility 3 to 5 miles in rain showers. Tempera-
tures 62 to 80 degrees F. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile resistance continued strongest in the Kumhwa-Pukhan
River area, where the enemy launched 4 attacks of platoon to battalion
strength and stubbornly opposed friendly advances in heavy fighting.
Friendly air sighted continued build-up of enemy supplies north of IX
and X Corps positions and observed 2000 vehicles, 1095 of which were
southbound (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND
a. General: Friendly units made limited gains east of
Kumhwa and patrolled aggressively in other sectors. A task force
reached the Chorwon-Ichon road, 9 miles west of Chorwon. (FECOM)

b. I US Corps: 1st ROK Division patrols encountered light
resistance south of Kaesong, and the 29th British Brigade placed artil-
lery fire on hostile groups across the Imjin. Farther north, a task
