Weather: Broken to overcast low and middle, and scattered high clouds. Visibility 3 miles. Forecast: Broken middle and broken to overcast high clouds. Visibility good. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Hostile squad-to company-size groups offered light to moderate resistance to friendly patrols and probed UN lines at several points in the east-central sector, without penetration. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: GROUND: a. General: Friendly patrols continued to probe enemy positions across the front. X Corps units consolidated advance patrol bases on newly-won high-ground positions northeast of Yanggu. The Colombian Battalion closed into assembly areas north of Hwachon and was attached to the 21st Regiment of the 24th US Infantry Division. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: Patrols from the 1st ROK Division and the 1st US Cavalry Division engaged squad- to platoon-size hostile groups across the Imjin River and north of Yonchon. 1st Commonwealth Divi- sion and 3d US Infantry Division units adjusted positions and patrolled without contact. Elements of the 25th US Infantry Division remained in assembly areas south of Kumhwa.
