1. Weather:
Clear with unrestricted visibility. Temperature 55 degrees to 78
degrees F. Forecast: Clear during the night followed by increasing
cloudiness early in the morning. Broken high clouds increasing to over-
cast during the afternoon. Visibility good except in rain. (FEAF)

2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile activity continued moderate in the east-central sector,
north and northeast of Yanggu, but increased in the western sector and
on the least coast. Company-strength enemy groups attacked 1st US
Cavalry Division positions at two points west and southwest of Yonchon,
in the I US Corps sector. Twelve T-34 tanks were observed in the area
of the attacks. Moderate to heavy enemy mortar and artillery fire was
received on UN positions in the I US Corps sector. An unidentified air-
craft dropped 10 flares in the area 10 miles east of Munsan, On the
east coast, ROK forces encountered platoon- to battalion-size groups,
and received several probing attacks. During the period, air observed
a total of 2, 600 vehicles, of which 961 were moving south. (FECOM)

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: Units of the 1st US Cavalry Division contained
and repulsed two enemy attacks west and southwest of Yonchon, in the
western sector. Other UN forces made one- to three-mile gains north-
east of Yanggu in the least-central sector. UN forces repulsed several
enemy probing attacks northeast of Yanggu and in the least coastal area.
Elsewhere, friendly units continued aggressive patrolling against light
