1. Weather:
Overcast clouds at the beginning of the period, clearing to only
scattered clouds by the end of the period. Visibility was good. Forecast:
Scattered high, middle and low clouds. Visibility will be good. (FEAF)

2. Enemy Situation:
During the period, enemy offensive activity in the western sector
decreased. Squad- to platoon-size groups opposed UN patrols. In the
vicinity northwest of Chorwon and northwest of Kumhwa, enemy groups
up to battalion size were engaged by friendly forces. In the area north
of Hwachon reservoir, from the Pukhan River eastward, enemy groups
up to battalion strength were engaged. Enemy probing attacks in squad
to platoon strength were reported in the central and eastern sectors.
During the three-day period, a total of 6, 080 vehicles were sighted, of
which 2, 198 were reported southbound, (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces generally maintained and adjusted
positions in the western sector. Elements dispersed enemy groups of
up to two companies in size. In the central and east-central sectors,
friendly forces launched a series of limited objective attacks and reported
some gains against light to moderate enemy resistance. Elsewhere,
aggressive patrol activity continued. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: Elements of the 1st ROK Division dispersed
two enemy companies in the area northwest of Korangpo early in the
period. During the remainder of the period, friendly patrols engaged
