1. Weather:
Scattered clouds. Visibility seven miles. Forecast: Scattered
low clouds. Visibility seven miles. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
In the west sector, scattered groups up to two squads in size
lightly opposed UN patrols. In the west-central sector (Kumhwa-Hu-
dong area) groups up to company size opposed UN advances and launched
probing attacks against forward elements of UN troops. In the east-
central sector (Pukhan River east to Kajon) groups up to battalion size
launched probing attacks against UN units, and groups up to regimental
size strongly opposed UN advances. The adjusted total of vehicle
sightings for the period of 11-12 September is 1, 719, of which 1, 319
were southbound. Hereafter adjusted figures will be reported 24 hours

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN units in the west-central sector continued
aggressive patrolling with only light scattered contacts. In the Kumhwa-
Hudong area, friendly forces repulsed a number of platoon- and company-
size probing attacks and made small gains near Kumhwa. East of the
Pukhan River, continuing attacks by elements of five UN Divisions made
only minor gains against heavy opposition from groups up to regiment
in strength. A number of enemy attacks from platoon to battalion size
were repulsed. In the east sector, no significant activity was reported.
