1. Weather:
Scattered to broken clouds over North Korea. Visibility unrestricted.
Forecast: Broken clouds becoming scattered by end of period. Visibility
unrestricted. Typhoon activity reported in the Okinawa area. (FEAF)

20 Enemy Situation:
Resistance continued moderate to heavy in the western sector, north-
west of Yonchon, and in the east-central sector, north of Yanggu. Company-
and battalion-size groups stubbornly opposed attacking UN forces in these
sectors. Several strong probing attacks were made against UN positions
west and north of Chorwon, in the western sector. Activity increased in
the east coast area, south of Kosong. The adjusted total of vehicle sight-
ings for 10-11 October is 1, 305, of which 1, 063 were moving south. (FECOM)

3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
2.. General: UN forces attacking north of Yanggu made gains
of up to 2, 000 yards against stubborn resistance, and a task force advanced
6 miles up the Yanggu-Marwhi road in the same area. Elements of the 1st
US Cavalry Division, attacking northwest of Yonchon, were held to slight
gains in moderate to 'heavy fighting; and communications with elements of
one regiment were lost at 120530 (KT). Elsewhere across the front, prob-
ing of enemy defensive positions continued and enemy attacks were repulsed.
