1. Weather:
During the period 101800 to 111800, there were occasional scattered
low clouds throughout Korea. Otherwise, weather was clear. Visibility
was restricted in west-central sector due to fog most of the night and early
morning. Maximum battle area temperature, 50 degrees; minimum 30.
Forecast; A cold front is expected along the Yalu River by 0900 (KT),
reaching the Seoul area by 1800 (KT). Scattered low clouds will become
broken along the west coast by noon. Multilayered clouds are expected with-
in the frontal zone, ceilings will occasionally be reduced to 1000 feet with
visibility reduced to one to three miles in snow in the north, and three to
five miles in rain in the south. Clearing expected to be rapid 6 hours after
the frontal passage. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Light probing attacks of up to platoon size were made against UN Posi-
tions in the X US and I ROK Corps. Mortar and artillery fire was moderately
heavy on 7th US Division positions north of Yanggu. Twelve SP guns, two
anti-tank guns, and a. possible tank were observed opposite I US Corps posi-
tions in the western sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 9-10
December is 643g of which 470 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces repulsed scattered energy probing
attacks and continued to engage small groups in patrol clashes. UN artillery
fired on numerous hostile gun and personnel targets across the front.
